A New Voice in Our Community

The Missouri State Teachers Association has endorsed Keri Cottrell, Democratic candidate for the 1st District of the Missouri House of Representatives.

“As a classroom teacher for over 15 years, Keri’s first-hand knowledge of education matters makes her the ideal candidate for teachers and students in Missouri schools,” said Krista Meyer, MSTA Political Action Manager. Cottrell’s positions on education issues were compared to the priorities and resolutions adopted by MSTA members each year.

MSTA endorsements are designed to assist educators and concerned citizens in determining quality education candidates. Endorsements are made after a review of the candidate’s positions on education issues.

“The endorsement was based on Keri Cottrell’s proven dedication to public education. No one can advocate for teachers and students like an educator,” Meyer added.

The Missouri State Teachers Association is the leading education organization in the state, with more than 44,000 members and over 150 years of service to Missouri educators. It has no national affiliation.
